"It’s been a whirlwind of a year. It’s been an exciting year. It’s been a bit of a terrifying year in many ways. 

"I think the rapid pace of technological changes in society and the urgent need for ethical and legal guidance [to match] the rapid pace of technological advancement in AI and neurotechnology has made it exciting and terrifying because I’m not sure we will get to a place where we can align the technology in ways that really maximize the benefit for humanity. 

"And so it’s been a year of me being on the road nonstop, missing my kids, but feeling like there is really important work to do."
